Secret Rapture Fact or Fallacy?

Introduction

Is there really a Secret Rapture with a second chance of salvation? Regardless of the topic when it is associated with salvation, Satan has deceptions in every area in an attempt to steal as many people as possible from God’s kingdom. It is a grave error to underestimate the enemy. It does not matter how many people believe a lie, it will never make it truth. Mark Twain once said, “A lie can travel halfway around the world, while truth puts on its shoes.” The only way to avoid the enemy’s deception and find truth is to study the scriptures diligently. Multitudes of people have been exposed to this “dispensationalist” or “futurist” interpretation of prophecy and have been utterly confused. So what is the real truth about this so-called secret rapture?

What is the Secret rapture theory?

According to those teaching the secret rapture theory, the coming of Jesus will be in two separate stages. The first will be a secret rapture of the Church at the beginning of a seven year tribulation period followed by a glorious, triumphant return of Christ to the Earth accompanied by the Church at the end of the seven year period. They believe that during this seven year period the Antichrist is going to come into power and God will select and seal 144,000 literal Jews who will take the Gospel to the whole world converting immeasurable souls to Christ. They also believe the battle of Armageddon is a literal national war against literal Israel, which occurs near the end of the seven years and is brought to a halt by Christ’s return with His Church. Then literal Israel accepts the Lord as the Messiah and enters with Him as His covenant people into the 1,000 year (millennial) reign on earth known as the Kingdom Age. Christ will rule directly over the earth from the throne of David in Jerusalem, where the typical temple services function again. Those who ultimately reject Christ’s rule are eventually judged and destroyed at the end of the Millennium. The new believers will then receive immortality and eternity will begin.

However, the Bible nowhere speaks of these two separate comings and the word “rapture” is also an invention of theologians and occurs nowhere in the Bible. The deception does not stop there, Christians also debate whether we will be taken before the tribulation or in the middle of the seven years or at the completion of the seven year tribulation. These are called pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation and post tribulation. Now for the most amazing part of these views in regards to the seven year tribulation period; are you ready for this? It was manufactured by a Jesuit Priest who was commissioned to come up with this false interpretation of Bible Prophecy. This raises many questions, such as why was this done and how could so many be drawn into this lie. I hope you will read on as we cover all aspects of this topic and reveal the Bible truth.

Does the Bible teach there is a Secret Rapture?

This is a brief point by point account of the order of events according to Scripture; there is Christ’s second coming, the resurrection, the catching up of the saints to meet Jesus in the air which all take place at the same time and at the end of the world. This is why Jesus said in Matthew 28:20 “…and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Why would Jesus promise to be with the church until the end of the world if He intended to come seven years before the end to take them out of the world? The promise would then have no meaning.

This false doctrine on the secret rapture is contradictory to the words of Jesus in Matthew 13 when He said the wheat and tares would grow together until the “end of the world” and then would be separated. According to this dual coming secret rapture theory, both groups would not grow together until the end of the world. The righteous would be separated from the wicked seven years before the end. And what about the promise of the resurrection? Christ said, concerning the righteous, John 6:40 “…and I will raise him up at the last day.” No one denies that this means the last day of the world. Paul declares the saints are caught up to meet the Lord at the “same time” the dead in Christ are raised. He says, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Did you note that Jesus called this resurrection the “last day?” But how could it be the “last day” if this gathering of the saints takes place seven years before the end of the world? And how could the “last trump” (see 1 Corinthians 15:52 below) sound if it really wasn’t the very last moment of time? Imagine the graves opening and the righteous rising and no one knowing that it had occurred? Consider also the added testimony from God’s Word;

Matthew 24:27 “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Matthew 24:30 “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matthew 24:31 “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (This is clearly the time when Christ comes to gather His saints.)

1 Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 6:16-17 “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

There is no understood scripture that says the second coming of Christ to gather His saints will be a secret rapture. All these verses show it will be a very loud and very visible event that every eye shall see. There is nothing secret about any aspect of His coming. Those believing in the secret rapture sometimes quote Matthew 24:40-41 out of context. The entire passage reads;

Matthew 24:37-41 “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Jesus is demonstrating the parallels between the days of Noah and the second coming of Christ. The eight that entered Noah’s Ark were saved and those that scoffed perished as the flood “took them all away.” Many have been taught that the ones taken are the ones saved but note it is actually the ones taken that are destroyed. There was no second chance. Jesus said and “so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” The last verse of this chapter tells us what will happen to those who are taken to destruction. Matthew 24:51 “And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Those believing in the secret rapture also quote Jesus in saying He will come as a thief in the night, meaning it will be a secret rapture. Jesus said in Matthew 24:43-44 “But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Jesus is not talking about coming secretly but coming unexpectedly when we least expect Him and so the wicked will be taken by surprise. This is why Jesus tells us to be ready as we know not the hour of His return. If we are not right with Christ and living wicked lives, when He returns we will be left behind.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 is also quoted which reads, “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.” Same message as before be ready for Christ’s unexpected return. And what happens after His return? 1 Thessalonians 5:3 “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” How secret is sudden destruction? Those that are left after Jesus’ return encounter “sudden destruction.” Again, just like in the days of Noah.

These two “thief texts” are also used to teach a secret rapture. Revelation 3:3 “Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.” Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” In both these instances just quoted, the secrecy is also in connection with the timing not the nature of the event, and is exactly the same as the other “thief texts.” Notice the phrase in chapter 3:3 which says “hold fast, and repent” and the last part of verse 15 which says “lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

This is once again a warning to be not caught living in sin, because we know not the hour which Jesus will return. He will come unexpectedly when you least expect it as does a thief. It would be no good for the thief if you knew when he was coming as you would be ready for him and he could not rob you. In the same way we need to be ready and living in righteousness now and not just when we think Jesus is coming or we will be “caught naked and our shame seen.” Those who love and obey Jesus will be ready for His return. This is the meaning of the phrase “to come as a thief” that is used several times in the Bible to warn us so we will not be left behind.

And still one more. 2 Peter 3:10 says “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Again, absolutely nothing secret. To the contrary, it could not be more obvious. It states after Jesus comes unexpectedly as does a thief, “the heavens shall pass away with a great noise” and “the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth … shall be burned up.” So when Jesus returns the very next thing is the end i.e. the last day. If coming “as a thief” is a secret rapture which takes place seven years before the end of the world, how can the heavens and earth “pass away” as Peter describes it? Three of these “thief texts” are all followed by the same unmistakable catastrophic sudden destruction. Coming as a thief is unexpected, NOT a secret!

Will Christ’s second coming include a third coming?

Those who believe in a “secret rapture” say that the Greek word “parousia” refers to the secret “coming” of Jesus in His presence and that the Greek word “apokalupsis” refers to the visible glorious “coming” of Jesus in power seven years later. They also teach in middle of this seven year period, (3.5 years) the antichrist will reign. But “parousia” and “apokalupsis” are BOTH used to describe the second coming as we will soon show by its parallel in the “days of Noah.”

Paul uses the word “parousia” in the well known so called “rapture chapter” of 1 Thessalonians 4 when speaking of the coming of Christ and our gathering together unto Him. Paul then shows that this “parousia” will destroy the man of sin; the Antichrist. Paul says, “whom the Lord shall…destroy with the brightness of his coming [parousia].” 2 Thessalonians 2:8. These scriptures unmistakably describe the coming [parousia] of Christ as taking place after the reign of the man of sin, not as a secret rapture before the Antichrist’s reign begins.

The other Greek word “apokalupsis” [revelation] is used in a way that indicates it is not a separate second coming from the time the believers are gathered up. Peter said in 1 Peter 1:13 to “… be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation [apokalupsis] of Jesus Christ;” Why would Christians be exhorted to continue hoping to the end of the world for the grace brought through the revelation of Jesus Christ if their real hope was a secret rapture seven years before the revelation?

These following verses showing Matthew and Luke’s account of the same event prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the words “parousia” and “apokalupsis” do refer to the same event. In Matthew 24:37 we read, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming [parousia] of the Son of man be.” And the same account in Luke 17:26, 30; “As it was in the days of Noah…Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed [apokalupsis].

This shows that the coming [parousia] of Christ and the revelation [apokalupsis] of Christ are the same event. There is absolutely no basis for placing seven years in between. This whole counterfeit secret rapture is built upon a constant repetition of words and ideas that have been repeated so often that millions have assumed that they must be biblically sound.

Where in the Bible is the Seven Year Tribulation period?

As there is so much secret rapture theology revolving around the seven year period, one would deduce that the Bible must speak frequently of this time period. There is in fact not one single scriptural reference which ties the seven years to the end of the world or the coming of Christ. Most secret rapture literature mention the seven year tribulation period without offering any Bible proof or explanation. One woman once asked me if I believed in the seven year tribulation period, which knowing the truth, I promptly replied no. I was then told I was wrong as the Holy Spirit had revealed this to her. I asked her where the scripture was to support this, of which she replied, “it is here in the Bible somewhere.” I am still waiting for her to give me the reference. Absolutely millions of people have assumed that it must be so well documented that no proof is needed. The fact is the absolute opposite is true. There just simply isn’t any evidence to give.

Where did the secret rapture and seven year tribulation theory originate?

In early 1830, a 15 year old Scottish Girl called Margaret McDonald had visions that included a Secret Rapture of believers before the appearance of the Antichrist. Edward Irving (1792-1834) who was her Scottish Presbyterian pastor and forerunner of the Charismatic and Pentecostal movements, attended prophecy conferences that began in Dublin Ireland also in 1830 at Powerscourt Castle where he promoted the doctrine of the Secret Rapture as per her vision.

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) who was a minister of the Church of Ireland later became a member of the Plymouth Brethren and also promoted the Secret Rapture after attending the same Powerscourt Bible Prophecy meeting in 1830 where he learned of Margaret McDonald’s supposed vision. Darby modified her views and then taught them under his own name. He developed and organized “futurism” into a system of prophetic teaching called “dispensationalism” with the so-called secret rapture at its centre. He visited Margaret McDonald at her home in Port Glasgow, Scotland and then later visited America several times where this Secret Rapture theology starting gaining a large acceptance in the 1850s and 1860s.

John Nelson Darby who was largely responsible for introducing this new teaching on a large scale also greatly influenced Cyrus Ingerson Scofield (1843-1921) who also incorporated this false doctrine into the notes of his Scofield Reference Bible, first published by Oxford University Press in 1909. One million copies were printed by 1930, firmly establishing this Futurist theory into different denominations and Bible schools of the United States in the 20th Century.

Did this Secret Rapture theory originate with Margaret McDonald?

Historical evidence actually reveals it originated much earlier. Before and during the Protestant Reformation, the Reformers embraced the true “Historical” interpretation of the Bible where the antichrist was clearly seen as a system of apostasy and persecution rather than a single individual. John spoke of antichrist that “shall come” but he also added that “even now are there MANY antichrists” 1 John 2:18. So we know that there was not just one but many antichrists and that the antichrist system was operating when John was writing about 2000 years ago. The conclusion of those who studied these prophecies during the Reformation was that there was only one system that fit all the characteristics of who is the antichrist power which was the Papal system of the Roman Catholic Church. The following are the many identifiable characteristics:

  1. It will rise to be a great power after the fall of the pagan Roman Empire (after 476 A.D.)
  2. It will be a geographically small nation (a little horn). (Dan 7:8)
  3. It will rule over many people, nations, and tongues (it will be universal). (Rev 13:7)
  4. It will be headquartered in the city of seven hills, Rome.
  5. It will be a religio-political entity – a political city-state ruled by a priest-king.
  6. Its priest-king will make great and blasphemous claims. (Rev 13:1, 6)
  7. It will claim authority over all kings. (Rev 17:18)
  8. It will claim its power to change the holy times and laws of God as its mark of authority. (Dan 7:25)
  9. It will be an apostate church that makes the nations drink her cup of apostate doctrine. (Rev 14:8)
  10. It will be a “mother” harlot church, with apostate daughters coming from her. (Rev 17:5)
  11. It will be a persecuting power, killing the faithful saints of Jesus Christ as heretics. (Rev 13:7)
  12. It will hold power and authority for 1260 years following the fall of pagan Rome.
  13. It will suffer a deadly wound that will end 1260 years of dominance and persecution.
  14. It will be revived after the deadly wound, and all the world would wonder at its revival. (Rev 13:3)

No wonder the Roman Catholic Church was so opposed to the Bible being available for everyone to read for themselves. To control what they called heretical doctrine, the Catholic Church called for a special meeting known as the Fifth Lateran Council, (1512-1517) which forbade anyone to publish a book without prior censorship and also prohibited anyone from preaching on the subject of antichrist. The leaders of the Council and the Catholic Church also attempted to ban or burn all Bibles, heretical books, and the heretics that owned or preached from them.

The major characteristic identifying the antichrist power was this 1260 years of persecution of the “saints” which was fulfilled in the Catholic Church’s persecution of Christians throughout the dark ages beginning in 538 A.D. after the fall of the pagan Roman empire, and extending to 1798 (1260 years exactly), when the Pope was taken prisoner by Napoleons general Berthier and died. This was the deadly head wound. (Revelation 13:3) In order to divert attention away from the Roman Catholic Church as the antichrist power, a new interpretation would have to be found. This was done by rejecting the true “Historical” interpretation and accepting a false “Futurist” interpretation proposed by a Jesuit doctor of theology, Francisco Ribera (1537-1591).

In his book, entitled “In Sacrum Beati Ioannis Apostoli, & Evangelistiae Apocalypsin Commentarij”, he postulated that the 1260 day prophecy were not 1260 years but a literal 3 1/2 years, or 1260 actual days, and therefore none of the book of Revelation had any application to the Middle Ages or the Papacy. It applied to a future period just prior to the Second Coming of Christ; hence it was called “Futurism” or the “Futurist” interpretation. Manuel De Lacunza (1731-1801), a Jesuit priest from Chile, also advocated futurism in his manuscript entitled “La Venida del Mesias en Gloria y Magestad” (The Coming of the Messiah in Glory and Majesty). Writing under the assumed name of Juan Josafa (Rabbi) Ben-Ezra, Lacunza hoped to obscure the fact that he was a Roman Catholic, in order to give his book better acceptance in Protestantism.

Secret Rapture Chart

This historicism chart illustrates the three schools of interpretation regarding antichrist. Ribera’s futurism puts the antichrist into a future three and one-half literal years. Alcazar’s preterism identifies the antichrist as Nero. Both put antichrist outside the Middle Ages and the reformation period identified by Protestant Historicists as antichrist’s reign of 1260 prophetic years. The truly amazing part of all this is that the Futurist theory dominates Protestant teaching today. That scenario is directly traceable back to the pen of the Jesuit Francisco Ribera who manufactured this theory for the sole purpose of diverting attention from the Papacy. In what could only be described as a stunning reversal, Protestants have over time actually become the Papacy’s greatest ally by spreading its Jesuit spawned propaganda. What irony that Protestants who originally broke away from what they clearly recognized to be the harlot antichrist led church of prophecy, now champion the Futurist interpretation from high profile ministries. Futurism has without doubt, been successful beyond the wildest dreams of its Jesuit authors. The same applies to the Preterist interpretation of Luis De Alcazar, although to a lesser degree. For very detailed information, see the origins of Futurism.

What scripture was manipulated to come up with the seven year tribulation?

Most Bible students are stunned to learn where the seven years came from. In Daniel 9:24-27 God gave a prophecy concerning the probation of Israel. Daniel 9:24 reads, “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

God was going to allow Daniel’s people seventy weeks to end their rebellion against God and if they failed, Israel would be rejected as a nation. The seventy weeks are prophetic time and each day represents a literal year (Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34). So the seventy weeks would actually be a literal 490 years after which the Israelites were no longer God’s people. The seventy prophetic weeks were to begin with the decree to restore and build Jerusalem.

Daniel 9:25 “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

That well known date is 457 B.C., when Artaxerxes sent out the decree. (Ezra 7:13) From that date the Jews would have exactly 490 years to stop their rebellion towards God. The 490 year probation ended in A.D. 34 and the Jews ceased to be God’s chosen people. Daniel 9:25 says that the Messiah would be anointed after the total of sixty nine of those prophetic weeks had passed by. That would be 483 years from the decree date of 457 B.C. It takes no mathematician to figure the end of that prediction. It brings us to the year A.D. 27, the very year that Jesus was baptized by John and the Holy Spirit anointed Him for His ministry. Since “Messiah” means “Anointed One,” this can only be the fulfilment of Daniel’s prophecy that the Messiah would appear in A.D. 27. Seventy weeks were assigned to the Jewish probation but Christ appeared as the Messiah after sixty nine weeks. That leaves the final and seventieth week for Christ to minister before the Jews probation ended. What was to happen in the seventieth week?

Daniel 9:27 tells us, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.

The “midst of the week” would be three and a half prophetic days (or 3.5 literal years) from His baptism and according to the Bible, the ministry of Jesus lasted for exactly that, three and a half years. In the spring of A.D. 31 Jesus was crucified and the veil of the temple was rent (Matthew 27:51), signifying the end of sacrifices. By His death He caused the “sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” Another three and a half years would lead up to the end of the seventy weeks and the end of Jewish probation. During that three and a half years the disciples laboured mainly for the Jews but in A.D. 34 the seventy weeks ended; Stephen was stoned after his massive speech before the council in Acts chapter 7 and the gospel began to go to the Gentiles (Acts 8:4). The Jews had rejected the gospel message and were no longer God’s people just as Daniel had predicted. Now they could only be saved as individuals in exactly the same way as the Gentiles.

The seventy weeks or 490 years was the time God gave His chosen nation to end their rebellion where He would then forgive them for their transgressions. Notice how Jesus refers to this prophetic time period here in His conversation with Peter. Seventy times seven is of course 490.

Matthew 18:21 “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Now, to make the Jesuit manufactured prophecy fit its new interpretation, Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 which began in 457 B.C. with the decree to rebuild Jerusalem (Ezra 7:1-27) had to develop a “gap.” Arbitrarily the 70th week (7 days = 7 years) of Daniel’s prophecy is detached from its context and placed at the end of the age 2000 years later where it logically can no longer be the seventieth week. This “week” will according to its proponents constitute the “seven year tribulation period,” prior to which the Secret Rapture will occur.

This false and illogical “gap” theory states that all fulfilment of this prophecy is suspended until the Christian era is over. Then the last week of the 70 weeks prophecy becomes operative again constituting the seven year tribulation period. This false Jesuit manufactured theory teaches that the first sixty nine weeks of this seventy week prophecy (490 years) reached from 457 B.C. to the year 27 A.D. when Jesus began His ministry. The true “Historical” view teaches that the 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel 9 began in 457 B.C. and ended when Stephen was stoned to death in 34 A.D. It was at that time that the gospel went to the Gentiles and the Jewish people lost their place as those “Chosen” to spread God’s message to the world. They had also rejected Christ by calling for His crucifixion in the “middle of the week,” in 31 A.D. and then rejected Christ’s followers by stoning Stephen 3.5 years later at the end of the 70th week. (34 A.D.)

So we find this false rapturist theory gets the seven years tribulation by lifting that seventieth week of Daniel’s prophecy completely out of its context and shoving it far into the future where it is logically no longer the seventieth week. They claim it will be fulfilled after Christ comes to snatch away the righteous secretly. They agree that the sixty nine weeks of Daniel 9:25 refer to the period before Christ’s first advent, but then they insert a 2000 year gap before the seventieth week is fulfilled. They allot 69 weeks plus 2,000 years plus one week, or a total of approximately 2,490 years. By this devious manipulation of God’s Word by the Papacy, the rapturist’s believe they have extended the Jewish probation and based upon this, they teach that all the Jews will be saved in a great second chance after the “secret rapture” takes place.

Daniel's Seventy weeks Chart

The tragedy of this Jesuit spawned rapture theory that was commissioned by the Papacy is that it takes this beautiful messianic prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27, that proves Jesus is the Messiah by predicting His coming, His baptism and crucifixion, and then applying it to the Antichrist. They do this by stating that it is Antichrist that causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease after three and a half years. But Daniel states that it is Jesus who caused the sacrificial system of the Jews to cease when He died on the cross. A misinterpretation that confuses something Christ has done and applies it to the devil instead, is certainly a tragic and blasphemous occurrence. This is however the only way they could arrive at a seven year tribulation period. How very sad.

When speaking of Christ’s second coming, you often hear the question are you pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation or post tribulation. These terms are also the result of the very same Jesuit spawned propaganda. It also comes from the seventieth week of Daniel’s 70 week prophecy. Pre-tribulation is taken from the time of Christ’s anointing, mid-tribulation comes from the time Christ was crucified and post tribulation comes from the end of Daniel’s 70 week period which was the end of Israel’s time to repent of there rebellion and coincided with Stephens stoning.

Who is spreading this false secret rapture theory today?

In the 1990s, Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins took the future one-man Antichrist idea of Hal Lindsey, Cyrus Scofield, John Darby, Irving, Newman, Todd, Maitland, Bellarmine, and Ribera and turned it into “The most successful Christian-fiction series ever” (Publishers Weekly).

Hal Lindsey’s book, “The Late Great Planet Earth,” was largely theological, which limited its appeal, while “Left Behind” is a sequence of highly imaginative fictional novels. The television ministries of Jack Van Impe, Peter and Paul Lalonde and Pastor John Hagee have all worked together to produce “LEFT BEHIND: The Movie.” This project even caught the attention of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, resulting in an interview with LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins on Larry King Live. Left Behind is now teaching much of the same Jesuit Futurism as Francisco Ribera, which is hiding the real truth about the Antichrist. Through Left Behind, Futurism has taken a very strong hold, unleashing a massive tidal wave of false prophecy which is sweeping over the world. Everyone believes movies and books, right? With all the false teaching already circulating on the secret rapture and seven year tribulation period, even though these books are fictional, many have taken them as being greatly truth. Satan continues to clap his hands in glee over just another one of his great deceptions on the Christian world. And as usual, many Christians and even Pastors will not entertain the idea of this being possible as they will not consider the majority could be wrong and so the lie continues to spread like a disease.

If Christians don’t start waking up to the devils many deceptions, a lot of good people are going to perish. Satan’s deceptions are strong and convincing, but Christ has given us ample information to help us discern truth from error if we will only diligently study His Word.

Do we go through the great tribulation?

The Bible says that those who refuse the Mark of the Beast will NOT be affected by the Seven Last Plagues that come over the whole world. (Revelation 16:2) But this does not mean that we will not have to go through the time of trouble, nor that we will not be persecuted.

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Revelation 16:12, 15 “And the sixth angel poured out his vial (sixth plague) upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Note again that it is no secret rapture when Jesus comes “as a thief” as the angels have just poured out six plagues on the Earth for those who received the Mark of the beast or worshipped his image. Hence we are also here during the tribulation as these plagues are part of God’s judgement which follows. God’s faithful ones are of course protected from these plagues.

In Daniel 3:16-28 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace but God was with them through the persecution and in this case took them safely through it. They refused to disobey God and kept His Commandments. Note how Revelation 14:12 below also talks of how those who did not get the Mark of the Beast also kept God’s Commandments. There is obviously a strong link there to obedience to God and who we Worship in regards to the Mark.

The Bible often refers to times of patience with times of suffering. Revelation 13:10 speaks of the “patient of the saints” after they endured the 1260 years of persecution from the Roman Catholic Church which is the first Beast. Over 50 million Christians were tortured and murdered. Revelation 14:12 is the verse following the Mark of the Beast warning, and the “patience of the saints” as those who will endure through that time and still keep God’s Commandments.

Revelation 13:10 “He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The teaching of this false, Jesuit manufactured Secret Rapture and escape from persecution will be a devastating deception for Christians. Persecution and suffering have always been God’s means of strengthening His people and producing strong character. Here is God’s purpose in times of tribulation. It is to build perseverance, character, trust and hope in Him.

Romans 5:3-4 “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Satan wants to impede and restrain strength and character building in Christians by getting us focused on escaping trouble and persecution instead of our preparing to go through persecution even to the point of death. Even Jesus “learned obedience by the things which he suffered.” (Hebrews 5:8) Jesus guarantees that if we speak His truth boldly, we will suffer persecution.

John 15:20 “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

James 5:10 “Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. 11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

When these “soft” Christians are confronted with heavy persecution, they will fall like dominoes and Satan will be ecstatic and yet once again Satan’s lies will have been very successful.

Will there be a Second Chance?

I would imagine the answer to this question should be fairly obvious by now but let’s look at it anyway. Those who teach the secret rapture claim that during the tribulation those not raptured will be given another chance to be saved. Let it be categorically stated that absolutely nowhere does Scripture speak of any second chance, nor does the Bible anywhere speak of people being saved after Jesus comes. This is just another manmade doctrine that is indeed pleasing to the carnal heart of man and the devils intention to have those who would wait perish with Christ’s coming. The Bible in fact actually teaches the opposite. Notice these clear Scriptures;

2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Revelation 22:11-12 “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

When Jesus comes the second time, He carries “in his hand a sharp sickle.” Revelation 14:14. This is the reaping time after sixty centuries of the sowing of the seeds of sin. This is the harvest time, and “the harvest is the end of the world.” Matthew 13:39. “And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.” Revelation 14:16.

Jeremiah 8:20 truly says, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” There can be no saving after the reaping of earth’s harvest at the coming of Christ. When Jesus and His Holy angels appear, then “before him shall be gathered all nations.” Matthew 25:32. There will only be two classes in that great company. The destiny of each has been set by what he did before the coming of Christ. Let us stand firm on the Word of God alone and reject these manmade, Satan driven, pleasing ideas that form the bulk of the whole secret rapture theory.

The attitude of so many Christians seems to be that you should live a Holy life now so you don’t have to go through the Great Tribulation, but even if you don’t you will get another chance after this so-called secret rapture. But as we have seen in scripture and by this manufactured doctrine, when judgment comes there is no second chance. When people die in their sins they are lost forever, there is no second chance. Why should the Second Coming be any different?

Can Christ’s return be at any moment?

All too frequently coupled with the Secret Rapture doctrine is the equally misguided concept that Christ can come back at any moment, even tonight, as we so often hear well meaning Pastors and Evangelists proclaim. While we do not doubt the Lord’s ability, we do believe that God is not the author of confusion but of a great plan for those who trust and obey Him. Although we are well aware that no man knows the exact day and hour of Christ’s return, it is equally certain that there are various prophecies that await their complete fulfilment and that not until we witness these things come to pass, can we expect the Lord at any moment. It was this very doctrine which had come into the Church at Thessalonica and made it necessary for Paul to write:

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Those who believe in the Secret Rapture and that Christ can come at any moment say He will gather the believers before antichrist appears yet this Scripture says the absolute opposite. This verse refers to the Papacy and the pope seated (sitteth) in a position of power in the Church. We are the temple of God on Earth now. For Paul to call a rebuilt temple the temple of God would be to deny what Christ did on the cross. When the temple curtain was ripped from top to bottom this signified the end to the sacrificial system. Paul would never call it God’s temple.

Secret Rapture Summary

It is our sincere and earnest prayer that this document will reveal to you the total unscriptural nature of the Secret Rapture doctrine. Instead of preparing God’s people to face the increasingly difficult days ahead, as tribulation intensifies, this Jesuit manufactured doctrine has deluded millions of Christians into a false notion of escapism. Instead of obeying the Lord’s command to resist evil and occupy until He comes, they have become so “rapture” minded that they no longer even resist the evil, believing that they will not defeat it, but instead be rescued from it.

Sometime soon, Satan will attempt to personate Jesus and counterfeit His return to Earth. But God’s people need not be deceived. When the disciples asked Jesus for the sign of His coming and the end of the world, the very first thing He told them was to be on guard against impostors. In Matthew 24:4-5 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

The devil has been sharpening his deception skills for 6,000 years and his last masquerade will be his masterpiece. Jesus warns that he will do such a convincing job that, if it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived. Satan has introduced the strong delusion of the secret rapture to the Christian world that has been almost universally accepted in mainline churches. Jesus warned in Matthew 24:23-24 “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

As we have noticed, the Bible clearly teaches that Jesus Christ will come the second time in glorious majesty to take His redeemed home with Him. It will be a personal, visible, and earth shaking event that everyone alive will know about. The righteous will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17), whereas the wicked will be slain by the brightness of His coming (2 Thessalonians 2:8). Let us carefully and diligently study our Bibles so we will not be deceived concerning this most important and wonderful hope, the second coming of Jesus.

Christ’s Second Coming will be seen and heard by all

The Second Coming of Christ

The Bible is unmistakeably clear that when Jesus comes back, His feet never touch the ground. It says the righteous will be caught up to meet Him in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). This is why Jesus emphatically warns us in Matthew 24:26, “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

His Second Coming is Not a Secret

Matthew 24:27-31 “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Acts 1:9-11 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee , why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 6:14 “And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

His Second Coming Will Be Audible

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

His Second Coming Will Be Visible

Matthew 24:27 “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Matthew 24:30 “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

His Second Coming Will Destroy the Earth

Isaiah 24:19 “The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. 20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Revelation 6:14 “And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Revelation 16:18-20 “And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

1 Corinthians 15, 1 Thessalonians 4 and Matthew 24 are the same event

The Rapture.. I too once believed in the lie

Posted by Lynn on July 26, 2008

Growing up in church, I was taught that the saints, those saved, would be spared from the end by a secret rapture. Oh how wonderful it would be when the Messiah came back and raptured His believers away forever to be in heaven. As an adult, seeking truth and having the desire to know God , I now know how mislead I was and deceived. Today the church (COGOP) I grew up in still holds on to the lie so tightly that they fail to receive any truth at all and are clearly a dead church. That is why it is so important to dig deep into things and get the truth of it even if it means reprogramming yourself. In this blog I am going to show you facts that completely dispel the Rapture and expose it as a doctrine of demons spoken of by Paul. Not that it alone is false but one of many false doctrines that many stumble at truth because of it.

First we need to understand that the 7 week of tribulation as taught also in churches and in Judeo-Christianity is a LIE. see http://forbiddenfruitjam.wordpress.com/2008/07/24/7-years-of-tribulation/

With that in mind, it cancels out a pre-trib rapture because tribulations started 2000+ years ago. It also cancels out a mid-trib rapture because we are past the half way point and are indeed closer to the end. It also does away with the post-trib rapture because what I am going to show you is not a Rapture of believers but rather a rapture, if you want to call it that, of evil and resurrection of the elect.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Before the flood men where doing their own thing without YHWH and not that we cannot eat or drink or marry but they were partaking in sinful abusive behavior and had turned from YHWH. AT the time of the flood we have read that only Noah found favor with YHWH. Just like in the flood, the evil had no idea when or if the flood would come and so it shall be when the Messiah returns. The evil ones will be the ones not knowing. There will be no secrets to the believers because HE has told us in His word and He will prepare us for His coming. So when He comes it is the evil that will be taken away like the flood. Believers will not be taken away first. The evil will be removed and destroyed. Many Christians misuse the following as well and say it is a rapture of the saints.

Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Mat 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Mat 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

The ones taken are removed just as in the days of Noah, like the flood. Its the saved one that is left. The series “Left Behind” has been one of the biggest misleading series to read. I have read it and it is in no way truthful. They are not biblical and are full of deceit and lies on all biblical principles. They should be burned! I threw my books in the trash rather then let someone else read that trash and be mislead by lies. I am sick and tired of being lied to by man.

Again here is more on what they say talks about a rapture.

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

They say because the days will be shortened is referring to the rapture. But it doesn’t say that at all. It means He will not continue to tarry when it gets real bad because of the elect. HE WILL RETURN.

So when is He coming?

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

There are things that must take place before He returns and they are happening now. The great falling away is ever so alive. Churches are spreading lies at an alarming rate and misleading the sheep to believe in any doctrines. No one studies for themselves,. Everyone in their own minds serve a god that is comfortable to them and are not saved at all. The man of sin has already been revealed to them that are seeking truth and is being revealed to those also that YHWH has called. The church of today supports the anti-Christ while saying they don’t. They are blind to who the anti-Christ is and deceived with delusion. Until this is fulfilled, Messiah won’t come.

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [God is letting the evil ones do what they are doing until HE destroys them. When YHWH is ready to reveal the identity to His chosen, He will]
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [Anti-Christ has been at work since Messiah's first coming.]
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [Many serve the anti-Christ ignorantly and in doing so have rejected the love of the truth. They follow man rather then YHWH]
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [DUH...Like the rapture!]

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

When Messiah returns, it will be a noisy and loud day! The dead will be given life and those alive that remain will be with them. They shall all be changed and made as the Messiah was in His resurrection. Incorruptible and immortal! To be caught up and be with Messiah is speaking of the resurrection. We were not meant to be in Heaven but rather we were told we would inherit the EARTH. To be in the air is to be out of the grave and breathing once again.

How did man ever twist and turn truth into lies? They had help from the enemy who at this time I will not be revealing until time permits me to do so. It will shock and amaze you and many will scoff at the truth and call it hate but YHWH is the one that makes the rules…not man.

Get into the word and study this subject. I will be posting more on this subject and hope you will take time and know truth!

Born Again or Born From Above

“Born AGAIN” OR “BEGOTTEN FROM ABOVE”?

by Arnold Kennedy
INTRODUCTION.

http://www.arnoldkennedy.com/assetslist.html

If ever there was a need to put aside pre-conceived ideas and teachings, there is great need
to do so in the present use of the expression “born again“. There is a common conception and
presentation throughout the Christian world that is an absolutely false and misleading error. The
basis of the expression is found in the book of John.
John 3:3-5 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto ye except a man
be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a
man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be
born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of
the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh and
that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born
again.
In most translations, the words “born again” have been carried on in a traditional manner,
suggesting that a second “birth” is necessary to enter the Kingdom of God. Many Bibles, in their
margins, will have “from above” showing this is what the original manuscripts have. When we
look into the words actually spoken, we find that it was Nicodemus who made the suggestion
about entering a second time into his mother’s womb. This was the interpretation that Nicodemus
put on Jesus’ words, but Jesus did not say anything about a second time even if the translations
make Him appear to say He did. JESUS DID NOT USE THE WORD “AGAIN”! There is no
manuscript at all that says Jesus used the word “again”. The word deuteros that Nicodemus spake
appears in the New Testament 44 times, and it always means twice, again, etc.
Jesus did not use this word deuteros; Jesus used the word anothen.
Strong G509 anothen Includes from above, or from the first.
Thayer anothen Used of things that come from heaven [from God], or from a
higher [upper] place, or from the very first, or from the origin.
Knowing this one word difference helps understanding and shows up the problems there
are with the popular concept. Jesus confirmed to Nicodemus that He was not speaking of a second
birth when He told Nicodemus that He was referring to being born of water and of Spirit. Jesus
did not use the future tense, as did Nicodemus. Jesus was speaking of something that existed at
the time of speaking. The Christian Church has picked up the words Nicodemus spoke, rather than
the words of Jesus. Jesus chided Nicodemus for not knowing these things [v10]. Likewise today,
our teachers need chiding for the same reason of not knowing these things. Jesus went on to say
that not every person is begotten from physical birth of the Spirit, noting that, that which is of flesh
is of the flesh, being born that way at physical birth.
“AGAIN”
The word anothen that Jesus uses appears 14 times in the New Testament and it does not have a
meaning similar to deuteros (second time) or pallin (again), the latter being the word most
commonly translated as “again”. The adverb anothen always relates to place and is used of past or
former time, but never the future time. In order to discuss the word anothen, let us consider
examples of how the word has been translated.
Matt 27:51 and Mark 15:38 the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the
bottom;
Luke 1:3 having had perfect understanding all things from the very
first.
John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all:
John 19:11 except it were given thee from above:
John 19:23 now the coat was without seam, woven from the top
throughout.
Acts 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning,
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above
None of these indicate “again” in any sense.
“BORN”
Begetting and birth are two vastly different events. Begetting as used of men is the action
and process of conception, for example, Abraham begat Isaac [Matt 1:16]. Birth as used of
woman, is movement from one environment to another, for example, Mary of whom Jesus was
born [Matt 1-16]. This word gennao varies with the context and it may have an abstract meaning
also where it is used of figurative father-child relationships [1 Cor 4:15].
This word “born” in John 3:3-5 is gennao and it is found 98 times in the New Testament.
The sense usually has connection with procreation; the most prominent meaning being beget or
begotten. We must thus now determine the time when this begetting takes place. All modern
teachers insist that people already born can be re-born in the future. But when used of a male,
begotten is usually about the time of conception; when born is used of a female it is usually about
physical birth.
Thayer It is of mankind begetting children.
Vine Chiefly used of men begetting children.
If we want to understand its use in John 3:3-5, it is necessary to look at the Greek which
does not indicate future tense here. Modern theology or teaching likes to use the words in the
future tense [from tradition], but this is a total error. We have been taught so wrongly to use the
words, except a man be born again in the future tense that it is hard for many to think otherwise.
But “be born” is indefinite with respect to time. Jesus taught exactly what is taught through the
Old Testament, namely that God’s race is born from an original sowing.
“BORN OF WATER AND OF SPIRIT”
This is not only an interesting subject; but John 3:5 [Except a man be born of water and of
the spirit] is a key verse. Because of the “and” we see there are two requirements for perceiving
the Kingdom of God: water as well as spirit. What is believed here determines which gospel is
believed. We have the choice to believe that any man of any race can see the kingdom of God or
we can believe the limitation that Jesus presents:
The word for water is hudor and it is used of water of all sorts. On its own it means
nothing but water! Some religious so-called experts argue that the expression refers to baptism,
but this cannot be so because the thief on the cross [stake] went to paradise without being baptised.
So we have to look further.
A person is begotten of water as part of the natural process following biological
conception, but Jesus added the words, and of the Spirit. This makes it clear that the ability to
comprehend the Kingdom of God is included at the time of conception. To determine what this is
about, we must of necessity go back to the Old Testament to see who and what was begotten of the
Spirit. We can anticipate that the Old Testament will agree with the New Testament.
WHO DID GOD BEGET?
Exodus 4:22 Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn.
Statements like this immediately exclude all the other races and potentially, those before
Jacob. So, there is no need to go further back in the Bible, apart from noting that both Abraham
and Sarah were from the Adamic seed. They could not have been from the pre-Adamic or other later seed-lines. When God separated Abram and Sara He regenerated their ability to conceive a
child and commemorated the event by changing their names adding the fifth letter of the Hebrew
alphabet into their names – Abraham and Sarah. This number is connected with the Spirit of God!
The life in Sarah’s womb was spirit-endowed. Now, consider these questions:
1. If Israel was God’s firstborn son, then who are their offspring?
2. For Israel to be the son, then who is Israel’s father? Is it not God?
3. Does not Israel originate from God if Israel is His son?
Nowhere in the Bible can we find any suggestion of the humanist brotherhood of all men.
God is expressed as being the “Father of Israel” only. He is the father of all men OF ISRAEL, not
all men of all races.
Jesus taught His disciples [all Israelites only] to pray saying, our Father which art in
heaven. This is better translated our Father, the One in heaven. Neither God nor man can be
called a father until they have begotten offspring. There is no suggestion of a spiritual birth later
in life. God states that He is a Father in Exodus 4:22; therefore He begat offspring and is the
father of all descendants from Israel. The Apostle Peter declares that we [Israelites to whom he
was writing] are begotten from above, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed, by the
Word of God.
It must be immediately pointed out that, in this verse, the incorruptible seed of God [the
Father] is sporas rather than sperma. The meaning of this word sporas is the sowing back in the
past, or sown seed and refers to the firstborn, Isaac conceived in Sarah’s womb, after God had
regenerated Sarah’s and Abraham’s ability to conceive a child. It is now an appropriate place to
look at Sarah and Abraham, who are shown to be the place [or origin], being that originating rock
or quarry and the pit.
ABRAHAM AND SARAH – THE ORIGIN
Isaiah 51:1,2 Hearken unto me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord:
look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye
are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you:
for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
It is not necessary here to establish all the reasons as to why God needed to make a new
start with Abraham and Sarah. We have to accept that He did call Abraham alone. From this
beginning, God made promises to Abraham that were to follow on to Abraham’s seed (zera). Only
those born from this new beginning could comprehend the Kingdom of God. This beginning was
from God because God had regenerated Abraham and Sarah enabling them to bear one child. In
this way Isaac was born because of God’s action.
From Adam to Abraham, Adam’s pure line contained the breath of life [see Job], so where
did the people come from who did not have the breath of life? These men and women originated
from Genesis 1. Through misgenerative activity –[i.e.race mixing]-, racial pollution was
introduced to the bloodstream of the sons of Adam, and we find that God sought to eliminate the
products of such activity. Noah was “pure in his generations” [Gen 6:9], and so he and his
unmixed family were preserved. Later, the Children of Israel were to destroy the mixed breed of
the Canaanites. These could not receive the things of the Spirit of God. They could not witness in
their spirit and say, the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God
[Rom 8:16], as an Israelite is able to do. This principle is a continuing theme in the Bible.
Through Abraham and Sarah, God established the basis for Abraham’s seed to become the
Sons of God [John 1:12]. God was making a new beginning with Abraham. None other than the
seed of Abraham, through the son of promise, Isaac, has this opportunity or potential. Abraham’s
seven other sons did not have this potential – because they were born prior to Isaac. The
descendants of Isaac were begotten of the Spirit from their conception. This is why those among
Isaac’s descendants who believe are regarded as being anointed by the Spirit [Gal 3:16]. Paul is
able to declare, now He which stablishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us is God who
has also sealed us and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts [2 Cor. 1:21,22]. In 1 Cor 2:7-
16 Paul, confirming this, tells the brethren [kinsmen of the same womb of Sarah] that they have
not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God [v12]. He says that through this we
might know [or comprehend] the things that are freely given to us, [the brethren], of God. He goes
on to further declare that the “natural” man [those not born of Isaac’s line] cannot receive the
things of the Spirit of God. He affirms Jesus’ statement that anyone who is not begotten of the
original sowing [in the womb of Sarah] cannot see the Kingdom of God.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received abideth in you,
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit [practice] sin, for his seed
remaineth in him:
1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not;
There is this relationship between the “anointing”, the right “seed”, and being begotten of God.
“FORMED FROM THE WOMB”.
Isaiah 44:2 Thus saith the Lord [Jehovah] that made thee [Israel], and formed the from
the womb,
In what way would Israel be formed in the womb? Whose womb? The word beten means
what we mean today by the womb. Men do not have a womb; Abraham did not have a womb, but
Sarah did.
In Isaiah 51:1,2 as quoted above, speaking of Sarah, we find the womb described as the
hole of the pit. This metaphor is a term that extends to the mountain from which the Stone
Kingdom is taken. This is God’s mine. James who was writing to the twelve tribes said, OF HIS
OWN WILL BEGAT HE US [ISRAELITES] WITH THE WORD OF TRUTH [James 1:18]. Begat,
as has been shown, is chiefly about conception, not physical birth.
Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed
thee, O Israel, …
This verse indicates a difference between Israel and Jacob. Here we have the one being
created, and the other being formed. So there are differences associated with the use of these
words in different contexts.
Isaiah 44:24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I
am the Lord that maketh all things; …
Here again, the Lord is speaking to Israel only. Nowhere in Scripture can we find
reference to the Lord being the redeemer of any other people apart from those of Israel who are
formed from the womb. In the New Testament we still find reference to the womb of Sarah.
Therefore it is as important as ever in the New Testament, as well as in the Old Testament.
Rom 4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead,
when he was about an hundred years old, neither the deadness of Sara’s
womb: …
Contained in the first verse of this chapter, we see, Abraham our father, as pertaining to
the flesh. The father of us all [that is, Israelites] of verse 16 is Abraham after the flesh. This still
is not a spiritual rebirth. Remember that Paul was writing to the House of Israel to whom he was
sent.
Nicodemus, as a master or teacher in Israel, should have known these things, Jesus told
him so, in no uncertain terms. Teachers today likewise do not know these things. The womb of
Sarah and the offspring from that womb have been spiritualised away! The common New Testament word “brethren”, as has been shown, is kinsmen of the womb. What other womb would
this be other than the womb of Sarah?
“HE CAME UNTO HIS OWN” “BORN OF GOD”
John 1:11,12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as
received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God.
Quoting R.K. and R.N. Phillips in The only begotten God,
Verse 11 is almost completely misunderstood by the whole of Christendom today and the AV translation is the main cause of this misunderstanding … The word own appears twice in the verse – but in the first clause it is neuter gender while in the second it is masculine. Therefore John is referring to two different things. The first clause states that Jesus came to His own possessions [neuter gender] – His land, His Kingdom, His city, His temple. In the second clause the term His Own is the Greek term oi idios [masculine gender] which means, literally, the members of one’s own household. In this case it refers only to those who had authority over His Kingdom, city and Temple. (The vast majority of Israel were scattered abroad in the Dispersion and, at that time, were still classed as not my people.) Before we can complete the translation of verse 11, we have to look at the beginning of verse 12. The Greek text of verse 12 begins but to those who did receive Him. In this clause and the last clause of verse 11, we have another instance of the AV translating two different Greek words as one English word – in this case, received. The last clause of verse 11 states, in effect, that those who were ruling over His possessions neither received nor accepted Him [as the owner]. It points to outright rejection, not through ignorance [which is covered by the phrase does not recognise Him in verse 10], but by wilful refusal to accept Him as the rightful owner. However, in the first sentence of verse 12 the word received has the meaning of to welcome or to accept willingly. Hence, while the Judean Nation rejected Him at a national level, there were individuals in that Nation who did both recognise and receive Him gladly.
Verses 11 and 12 read in the Greek text:
v11 He comes unto his own [possessions] but The people [ruling over His possessions] refuse to
accept Him [as the rightful owner].
v12 But to those who welcome Him, to The ones believing in His name, to them He gives
authority to [make themselves] become [because of their beliefs] children of God [again].
They were not everyone on earth who was born of bloods [plural in Greek] or by the will of
the flesh [John 1:10-13]. Jesus came to His household who were born by the will of God.
Thayer’s Lexicon Household is used as stock, race, descendants of one.
Phillips and Phillips again points out:
The phrase translated the sons of God in verse 12 of the AV is quite wrong. The Greek phrase is tekna theou which means children of God. Immature children, no doubt, but it does not mean sonship;
for sonship points to growth and ultimate maturity. Nor does it have anything to do with
the false doctrine of “adoption”. On the contrary, the phrase forcefully asserts:
a. the natural genetic relationship of a child with its true father and, hence,
b. those children of God are the biological descendants of God Himself.
Note that John 1:13 states:
Which were born, not of blood [plural], nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
To which Phillips and Phillips point out:
Verse 13 states that those who were given the right to become children of God [again] were those [begotten]:
a. not out of bloods – which is of ordinary human descent,
b. nor out of [the] will of the flesh – which was Sarah’s demand to have children by Hagar
and Keturah,
c. nor out of [the] will of a man – which was Abraham’s desire for an heir,
d. but out of God are begotten.
The Greek verb begotten is plural in this verse and so cannot be limited to the birth of Jesus“.
Isaac was not born of Abraham’s will. Abraham was past that. Isaac was begotten by
God’s will when He regenerated Abraham and Sarah’s ability to have a child and to give that child
an individually incorruptible spirit. Isaac was thus begotten from above, as are Isaac’s
descendants from the time of their conception. In this portion of John 1 we find the origin of those
who can believe in Jesus. Also we find where they did not [and do not] come from! Jesus came
only [alone] to those begotten from above by God. He is shown to be the Redeemer of only His
Kinsmen.
6
A person does not exercise his will in determining where and of what race he should be
begotten. The will factor of the person being born does not function in normal physical conception
and birth. God determined what seed a person is from that person’s father. God knows who are
begotten of the Spirit from above. 2 Tim 2:19 says, “God knows those that are His”. The word
translated as “born” = gennao in the following Scriptures, is used in the genealogies and in all
other places, as being begotten or conceived. It does not relate to some spiritual birth.
John 1:13 Which were born [begotten], not of blood …
John 3:3 Except a man be born again … [that is, begotten from above]
John 3:5 Except a man be born [begotten] of water and of Spirit …
John 3:8 so is everyone who is born [begotten] of the Spirit …
John 18:37 To this end was I born … [referring to Jesus’ physical birth from Mary]
Matt 2:1 When Jesus was born in Bethlehem … [referring to His physical birth from
Mary]
Spiritualise these references if we like, but we will be like Nicodemus, not knowing these things.
“REGENERATION”.
In Scripture there is an expression that means “born again”. This is paligenesia or palin
(again) plus genesis (born). There are but two occurrences and this is how they have been
translated:
Matt 19:28 Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration
when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit
upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. …
Titus 3:5 … but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration,
and renewing of the Holy Ghost; …
It is not appropriate to expand this new subject here, other than to again note the Tribes of Israel
limitation.
WHAT IS BEING SAID?
Simply this, there is a great difference between “begotten” and “born”. Begetal refers to
conception where as born refers to physical birth. The Greek word, gennao, means conception or
beget (when used of men) and physical birth (when used of women). Unless a person is begotten
of the line that arises from the original sowing, the begetting of God, that person does not come to
contain the ability to perceive the Kingdom of God. This is what Jesus said to Nicodemus!

• So then this must mean that the wicked will be no more or consumed?
“Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalms 104:35.

• So there will be a final destruction of the wicked, they will not burn in hell for eternity?

• How does God feel about the final destruction of the wicked?
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” Ezekiel 33:11.

• So after the destruction of the wicked, sin will never rise up again?
“What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.” Nahum 1:9-10.

• How complete will the final destruction of the wicked be?
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” Malachi 4:1.

• Does the New Testament talk about the destruction of the wicked?
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:” Matthew 7:13

• Does the New Testament speak about the soul dieing?
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28.

• When will all of this take place?
“As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.” Matthew 13:40.

• Matthew 25:41 speaks of “everlasting fire” for the wicked.
Does it go out?
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” Matthew 25:41.
?
NOTE: Yes, according to the Bible, it does. We must let the Bible explain itself. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed with everlasting, or eternal, fire and that fire turned them “into ashes” as a warning to “those that after should live ungodly.

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude 1:7.

“And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;” 2 Peter 2:6.

These cities are not burning today. The fire went out after everything was burned up. Likewise, everlasting fire will go out after it has turned the wicked to ashes.

“And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 4:3.

The effects of the fire are everlasting, but not the burning itself.

• Doesn’t Matthew 25:46 say the wicked will receive “everlasting punishment”?
“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” Matthew 25:46.

NOTE: Notice the word is punishment, not punishing. Punishing would be continuous, while punishment is one act. The punishment of the wicked is death, and this death is everlasting. Nowhere in Scripture will you find that the wicked will receive eternal life, only the righteous.

• What will happen to the saved?
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

• What are the wages of sin according to the book of Romans?
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

• What will happen to the devil, will he be destroyed also?
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” Hebrews 2:14.

• Why is it impossible for sinners to be in the presence of God?
“For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29.

• What example does the Bible use to show that God will destroy the wicked by fire?
“And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;” 2 Peter 2:6.

• Where will this fire occur which destroys the wicked?
“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:7.

• Doesn’t God want us to repent?
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9.

• What will happen to the whole earth?
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:10.

• If we miss out on the first resurrection, will we have a “second chance”?
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:6.

• Where will the fire come from?
“And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.” Revelation 20:9.

• What is the second death?
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” Revelation 20:14.

• Are there any more verses that talk about the second death?
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8.

• What about the verse in Revelation 20:10 where it talks about the devil, the beast and false prophet being tormented for ever and ever.
Doesn’t that show that hell fire is forever or eternal?
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Revelation 20:10.

NOTE: The term “for ever,” as used in the Bible, means simply a period of time, limited or unlimited. It is used 56 times in the Bible in connection with things that have already ended.* It is like the word “tall,” which means something different in describing men, trees, or mountains. In Jonah 2:6, “for ever” means “three days and nights.

“I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.” Jonah 2:6. (See also Jonah 1:17.
)
In Deuteronomy 23:3, this means “10 generations.” In the case of man, this means “as long as he lives” or “until death.” (See 1 Samuel 1:22,28; Exodus 21:6; Psalm 48:14.) So the wicked will burn in the fire as long as they live, or until death. This fiery punishment for sin will vary according to the degree of sins for each individual, but after the punishment, the fire will go out. The teaching of eternal torment has done more to drive people to atheism and insanity than any other invention of the devil. It is slander upon the loving character of a tender, gracious heavenly Father and has done untold harm to the Christian cause.

*To check in a concordance, look up the word “ever”.

Eternal Soul in Torment Forever in Hell…..Who lied to you?

Posted by Lynn on July 26, 2008

This is the belief of most people professing to be Christian today. If you are a bad person you are damned for eternity in a firey BBQ pit for humans to be tortured and burned over and over again. This type of belief would make one think that our souls are eternal and I got a problem with that as the bible states NO WHERE that man’s souls are immortal.

Here is a study that was beautifully done to explain some truth and make it so easy to understand.

Job 4:17. “Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker?” The word mortal means subject to death; the word immortal means not subject to death.

1 Timothy 1:17. “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever, Amen.” God is the only One who has immortality. 1 Timothy 6:l6 is even more clear. “Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.” Only God has this power of immortal existence. Man is described as being mortal, or subject to death.

Some people believe that the above texts refer to the body and that the soul is immortal, and that the soul itself cannot die. This next text will forever clear up this misunderstanding. “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezekiel 18:4. This text says that the soul is subject to death.
Nowhere in the Bible is the doctrine taught that the soul is immortal.

If the soul is subject to death, then where did this belief originate that the soul does not die? We can start at the beginning of the Bible and find out very soon who is responsible for this lie. You can read Genesis 3:1-4 which is the conversation between the Serpent and Eve and you will see in the fourth verse that Satan, the Serpent, told Eve the very first lie: “Ye shall not surely die.” Right at the beginning of mankind, an adversary originated this lie that the soul would not die and it has been carried down through the ages.
If indeed the soul is mortal or subject to death, then what actually happens when a person dies?

What is a Soul?
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7. This scripture states that the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. What does it mean when it speaks of the spirit? In Job 27:3 it says, “All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils.” This text shows us that the spirit which God gives to man, is in his nostrils. Genesis 2:7 says, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” God breathed into man’s nostrils at creation and that breath of life is the spirit which returns to God at death.

So the words breath and spirit are used as the same word in the Bible, meaning the life which God gave man. And the breath and or spirit is how man lives. The body of mankind was formed out of the dust of the ground and then God breathed life into man and he became a living soul. You’ll notice that man became a living soul, not received a living soul. There is a difference. These two things make up life breath from God and dust from the ground.

Read Psalms 104:29,30. “Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.” Life and death are here described together and the words breath and spirit are used the same.

Where Are The Dead?
If the fact then is that the body returns to the ground and the breath of life returns to God, then where are the dead? When Peter in Acts 2:34 was speaking about David the patriarch, he answered the question. “For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand.” Acts 2:29, “Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Peter made it perfectly clear that David was still in his tomb, not in heaven or hell as many believe. David will come forth when the “dead in Christ rise first” at the second coming of Jesus. David is now resting in the grave until the resurrection.

Where Are The Wicked?
This answers the question about the ones who die with faith in Jesus, but what happens to the wicked when they die? Do they go to a place called hell? Are they punished at the time of their death? 2 Peter 2:9. “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.” The wicked are reserved until the day of judgment, and then at that time they will receive their punishment. Where are they until that time? John 5:28,29 answers the question, which is Jesus speaking: “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” Where are they? They are in their graves.

What About Lazarus?
If you just stop for a moment and think about this wonderful truth. You will realize that our loved ones who have preceded us in death, are not being tormented now in hell, nor are they in heaven either where they would be looking down upon the terrible scenes taking place on this earth. They are all sleeping the sleep of death until resurrection morning. The Bible calls death a sleep. Jesus said his friend Lazarus was asleep when he referred to Lazarus’ death. “Our friend Lazarus sleepeth” John 11:11.

Lazarus Is Dead
Then in John ll:l4 Jesus said, “Lazarus is dead.” Christ called Lazarus forth from his tomb where he had been dead for four days. When Lazarus stepped forth from his tomb, he did not say that he had been to heaven. If Lazarus had been in heaven, don’t you think that he would have protested about being brought back to this sinful earth. He would not have wanted to stay here for even one minute. He would have told those around him of the glorious scenes of heaven. But Lazarus did not speak of heaven. Lazarus had been sleeping in the dust of the earth since the breath of life had left him. Ecclesiastes 9:5. “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Lazarus was not conscious of anything that was going on during the time he was in the tomb. Psalms 146:4 says; “His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” We have no thoughts after death.

Psalms 115:17 tells us that there is no praise of God as far as the dead are concerned. “The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.” Isaiah 38:18,19 says: “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
” Psalms 6:5 says, “For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?”

Why Face A Future Judgment?
Why would there be a judgment set for the future, after the second coming of Christ, if people were already in heaven or hell? The false belief that the dead are still alive is confusing. How can one that is dead be alive at the same time. Why would he have to face a judgment in the future if he had already received his reward or punishment at the time of death.

The Bible is not confusing us. The Bible states only the truth. The Bible facts are: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Revelation 22:12. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16. “We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. . . in the twinkling of an eye. . . for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible. . . for this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-54.

When we die, it is as sleep to us. Whether we have died years ago or just a few days before the second coming of Jesus, it will seem to be but a moment of time until we are resurrected. Just as you go to sleep at night and without realizing the time that has gone by, it is morning. So it will be when we fall asleep in death. Resurrection morning will seem to come to us in a moment of time.

The Truth Will Set Us Free
Let us pray that we will be counted among the loyal and faithful in the resurrection of the righteous. That when we fall asleep in death, our hearts will have already made the decision to serve the Lord and our names will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Predestination According to Scriptures

Posted by Lynn on July 26, 2008

http://www.scionofzion.com/pred.htm for entire reading.

If you’re a Christian, you’ve heard of predestination. You must have because the Bible uses the word and teaches the idea. But what is predestination? How does free will fit in? What about man’s sinfulness and God’s sovereignty? Is predestination a fair doctrine or does it make God out to be dispassionate and tyrannical? In this paper, I will attempt to answer those questions.

Predestination is the doctrine that God alone chooses (elects) who is saved. He makes His choice independent of any quality or condition in sinful man. He does not look into a person and recognize something good nor does He look into the future to see who would choose Him. He elects people to salvation purely on the basis of His good pleasure. Those not elected are not saved. He does this because He is sovereign; that is, He has the absolute authority, right, and ability to do with His creation as He pleases. He has the right to elect some to salvation and let all the rest go their natural way: to hell. This is predestination.

In response to this definition, some will protest, “Unfair!” It may seem so at first, but you will see that it is quite fair. More importantly, it is biblical.

To help you understand predestination, I would like to address several areas in order:

1.The Eternal Covenant
2.Man’s Sinful Condition
3.The Result of Sinful Man’s Condition
4.Man’s Free Will
5.The Necessity of Predestination
6.God’s Sovereign Election
7.Conclusion
8.Objections Answered

1) The Eternal Covenant
Usually, the best place to start a study is at the beginning, and in order to understand predestination better we need to start at its beginning. Its origin can be found in what is called the Eternal Covenant. Hebrews 13:20 says, “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep.” If you have never heard of the eternal covenant, then you need to familiarize yourself with it because it is vital to a proper understanding of one of the ways God deals with His people. Essentially, God works covenantally.

A Covenant is a pact or agreement between two parties. It is a contract. The Old and New Testaments are really the Old and New Covenants. Testament comes from the Latin testamentum, which means covenant. In the O.T. the Hebrew word for covenant is always b’rith. In the N.T. it is always diatheke. There are OT covenants that God made with individuals, i.e. Adam (Gen. 2:15-17), Noah (Gen. 9:12-16), Abraham (Gen. 17), the Israelites at Mount Sinai (Ex. 34:28), and David (Sam. 7:12-16), etc., and in the NT there is the New Covenant (Luke 22:20; Matt. 26:28; Heb. 7:22) that was prophesied in Jer. 31:31-37.

The Eternal Covenant, then, is the covenant made between God the Father and the Son with regard to the elect. This covenant was made before the universe was created and it consisted of the Father promising to bring to the Son all whom the Father had given the Son. “And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day…I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours…Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world” ( John 6:39;17:9,24, NIV).

In the Eternal Covenant, the Father would prepare the Son a body (Luke 1:35; Heb. 10:5); give the Son the Spirit without measure (Is. 43:1,2; 61:1); always support and comfort the Son (Is. 42:1-7; 49:8); deliver the Son from the power of death (Ps. 2); bring to the Son all whom the Father had given Him (John 6:39; 17:9,24); and give the Son a number of redeemed that no one could number (Ps. 22:27; 72:17). The Son’s part was to assume human nature (Gal. 4:4,5; Heb. 2:10,11,14,15); be under the Law (Ps. 40:8; Gal. 4:4,5; Phil. 2:5-8); and to bear the sins of His people (Isaiah 53:12; John 10:11,15; 1 Pet. 2:24).

In the Eternal Covenant we see that God has given a certain number of people to the Son and that the Son came to redeem them, to “lose none of them” (John 6:39). We can conclude from this that God had in mind a certain people whom would be His elect. Since God knows all things, He knows those whom He has chosen. Hence, they are predestined from the very beginning of time.

2) Man’s Sinful Condition
Man is sinful. He does not become a sinner by sinning. He sins because he is a sinner. He is depraved, which means that sin has corrupted all that he is: mind, soul, spirit, emotions, and body. Man is so engulfed in sin, so thoroughly touched by it, that there is nothing in him that merits or enables salvation. He, therefore, is born into a state of condemnation: “…and [we] were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest” (Eph. 2:3). This is not to say that we are as evil as we can be, rather, that all of what we are is affected by sin.

The heart is often referred to in scripture as the deepest part of man and the center of his spiritual nature (Esther 7:5; 1 Cor. 7:37; Rom. 6:17; Deut. 29:4). From the heart man understands (Prov. 8:5), reflects (Luke 2:19), feels joy (Isa. 65:14), and experiences pain (Prov. 25:20). Because of his depravity (sinful condition), man’s heart is not only impure but desperately sick: “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jer. 17:9). Also, it is out of the heart that we speak “…out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matt. 12:34), and what is in the heart of the person is what comes out of him: “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man” (Mark 7:21-23). It follows then that man’s understanding, reflection, feelings, and experiences are all stained by sin.

The unregenerate person is a slave of sin: “For when you were slaves of sin you were free in regard to righteousness” (Rom. 6:20). That means that doing good is not a concern or need of the unbeliever–and naturally so for a person with a sinful nature. The unregenerate is inherently against God: “by abolishing in His flesh the enmity…thus establishing peace” (Eph. 2:15). Enmity is hatred, bitterness, and malice toward an enemy. That was our relationship to God prior to salvation; there was enmity between us.

So, the Bible reveals the true nature of man. It is evil (Mark 7:21-23), sick (Jer. 17:9), a slave of sin (Rom. 6:20), at enmity with God (Eph. 2:15), and, of course, naturally belongs in hell (Eph. 2:3). It then follows that out of his utterly sinful condition, only sinful desires and effects will follow.

The question must then be asked, “How can a sinful person ever desire God?”

3) The Result of Man’s Sinful Condition
Because of man’s sinfulness, he is unable to understand God, seek God, or do any thing good: “…both Jews and Greeks are all under sin as it is written, ‘There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one’” (Rom. 3:9-12).

Because of his sinfulness, he loves darkness rather than light; he loves evil rather than good: “And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil” (John 3:19).

Because of his depravity, he is incapable of accepting the things of God or understanding them: “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised” (1 Cor. 2:14). The natural man is the unregenerate man. The natural man cannot understand the things of God. Notice it does not say, “has trouble understanding,” or “can if he’s sincere,” or “will be able to if he chooses God.” It says he cannot understand. Salvation is one of those “things of God,” and so is the understanding of being lost, of being a sinner, of needing repentance, etc. All of these are out of reach of the natural man. He cannot understand them.

So, in light of these scriptures, how can an unbeliever come to an understanding that he needs salvation if the Bible teaches that he cannot understand his need (1 Cor. 2:14), that his nature is evil (Mark 7:21-23) and that he does not seek God (Rom. 3:11)? It would seem that man’s sinful condition does not permit him to desire, understand, or want God.

What effect, then, does this condition have upon his free will?

4) Man’s Free Will
Many believe that man, by his free will, by something that resides in him, is completely able to independently accept or reject God. But this belief is not supported in scripture. As I stated above, man’s will by nature is sinful. What then will a sinful free will choose? It will choose sin. His free will, then, would never allow Him to reach out to God.

But we must ask, “What is free will?”. Generally it is accepted to mean the freedom to choose according to one’s desires. This seems true. But someone is only as free as his nature is free. His will is limited to that which is within his nature. The unregenerate can only choose what his nature allows him to choose. Since he is full of sin, not goodness, his choices can only be sinful.

In other words, a person can choose to do only that which his nature allows him to do. He cannot simply will to suddenly vanish into thin air or fly like Superman because he is incapable of such feats; his nature limits him. So too with the nature of fallen man. He is severely limited by what he can and cannot do.

The sinful man:

* cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14).

* is full of evil (Mark 7:21-23).

* does not seek for God (Rom. 3:11).

* is lawless, rebellious, unholy, and profane (1 Tim. 1:9).

How then can the good desire to want God come out of the unsaved’s evil heart? It cannot! How is he able, in his sinful free will, to desire God when his inclinations are always to reject Him? He cannot. How can he, with his blind and sinful will that is deadened, hardened, and enslaved by sin (Rom. 6:20) ever choose God? He cannot! It is impossible. That’s why Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26, NIV).

But some still maintain that God works on a person and slowly teaches and guides him or her into believing. Others say that there is something in a person’s free will that enables him to choose God. They maintain that everyone is equally able to accept or reject. But if they are equally free and equally able, then why don’t they all equally accept God, or why don’t they all equally choose to reject Him? Why are there variations in choice? Are the variations a result of a tendency that God gave them? But God made them that way. Is it because of their environment? But God put them there. Is it because of some physical inclination? But God gave them their bodies. Is it because of their parents’ influence? But God gave them their parents.

The fact remains, man is not entirely free; he is sinfully free. The unsaved can act freely, but only within the limits of their sinful nature which cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14), does not seek for God (Rom. 3:11), hates God, and is in slavery to sin (Rom. 6:17,20), etc. That is why Jesus said, “No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draws him…” (John 6:44), and, “No one can come to Me, unless it has been granted him from the Father” (John 6:65). These are not the statements one would hope to find if the sinner were so free to choose to accept or reject God.

5) The Necessity of Predestination
I’ve laid the foundation: Man is completely a sinner who is incapable of understanding and coming to God and has a sinful free will capable only of rejecting God. Therefore, in order for salvation to occur, God must predestine. It can be no other way. If this is so, then there should be verses supporting it.

There are:

* Acts 13:48: And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; AND AS MANY AS HAD BEEN APPOINTED TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVED.

* John 1:12-13: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, WHO WERE BORN NOT OF BLOOD, NOR OF THE WILL OF THE FLESH, NOR OF THE WILL OF MAN, BUT OF GOD.

* Philippians 1:29: FOR TO YOU IT HAS BEEN GRANTED FOR CHRIST’S SAKE, NOT ONLY TO BELIEVE IN HIM, but also to suffer for his sake.

* Romans 8:29-30: FOR WHOM HE FOREKNEW, HE ALSO PREDESTINED to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren; and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

* Ephesians 1:5: HE PREDESTINED US to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will.

* Ephesians 1:11 Also WE HAVE OBTAINED AN INHERITANCE, HAVING BEEN PREDESTINED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE who works all things after the counsel of His will.

The preceding scriptures clearly show that the Lord is very active in salvation. He did not simply provide the means of salvation, the cross, but He also ensured the application of the blood of Christ through predestination.

Please consider that it is God who:
1. – draws people to Himself (John 6:44,65).

2. – creates a clean heart (Psalm 51:10).

3. – appoints people to believe (Acts 13:48).

4. – works faith in the believer (John 6:28-29).

5. – chooses who is to be holy and blameless (Eph. 1:4).

6. – chooses us for salvation (2 Thess. 2:13-14).

7. – grants the act of believing (Phil. 1:29).

8. – grants repentance (2 Tim. 2:24-26).

9. – calls according to His purpose (2 Tim. 1:9).

10. – causes us to be born again (1 Pet. 1:3).

11. – predestines us to salvation (Rom. 8:29-30).

12. – predestines us to adoption (Eph. 1:5).

13. – predestines us according to His purpose (Eph. 1:11).

14. – makes us born again not by our will but by His will (John 1:12-13).

It is man who:
1. – is deceitful and desperately sick (Jer. 17:9).

2. – is full of evil (Mark 7:21-23).

3. – loves darkness rather than light (John 3:19).

4. – is unrighteous, does not understand, does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12).

5. – is helpless and ungodly (Rom. 5:6).

6. – is dead in his trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1).

7. – is by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3).

8. – cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14).

9. – is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:16-20).

How can it be any other way than God’s loving predestination to make our salvation not only possible, but also a reality? Left to man, salvation is impossible: “When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, ‘Who then can be saved?’ Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible’” (Matthew 19:25-26). That is why it must be God who opens the heart: “And a certain woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul” (Acts 16:14).

This is what truly glorifies God, that in His infinite mercy He is gracious enough to save those who would always reject Him, always hate Him, and always malign Him.

Praise Him and His love!

6) God’s Sovereign Election

God is sovereign. Sovereignty means that God is supreme in power and authority, that He answers to no one, and that He may do as He pleases for whatever reason He chooses. “Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:10); “…to do whatever Thy hand and Thy purpose predestined to occur” (Acts 4:28); “…this Man [Jesus], delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross…” (Acts 2:23).

Out of a people of utter sinfulness and inability, God has chosen, by His sovereign grace, to elect some into salvation and not others. Remember, there is nothing in man that merits any favor, blessing, or mercy whatsoever. For there is no favoritism with God (Rom. 2:11). Each and every person is entirely worthy of wrath and incapable of saving himself. That is why God has chosen a people to Himself out of the good pleasure of His heart. Because without His choosing, none would ever come to Him. Therefore, predestination is a loving doctrine: “…In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ…” (Eph. 1:4,5).

He chooses some and ignores others not because of what the person has done, or what is foreknown that he would do, but simply because of God’s sovereign choice: “[God] who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity” (2 Tim. 1:9); and, “for though the twins had not done anything good or bad, in order that God’s purpose according to His choice might stand, not because of works, but because of Him who calls, it was said to her, ‘The older will serve the younger.’ Just as it is written, ‘Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated’” (Rom. 9:11-13; see also, Psalm 11:5).

Sovereignty is why God has mercy on whom He desires and hardens whom He desires: “For He says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’ So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy…So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires” (Rom. 9:15,16,18). This is sovereignty! It is God who is in control.

Some He has elected to salvation, others He has not: “…for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed” (1 Pet. 2:8); And, “What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so in order that He might make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory” (Rom. 9:22-23). It seems quite clear that God prepares some for mercy and not others. That is sovereignty.

7) CONCLUSION

With a better understanding of scripture, predestination is not the tyrannical doctrine that so many make it out to be. Predestination is really the manifestation of God’s mercy and love. It ensures the salvation of the ones He has called. It properly reveals the true nature of man to be utterly sinful, rebellious, and antagonistic to God. It puts God in total sovereign control, where He rightfully belongs. It removes man’s ability to take any credit at all for salvation, because even the act of believing could not be self-authored in a sinful free will. And, finally, it reveals the greatness of God’s mercy and love and causes the saved to rest in the knowledge that it was God who made their salvation sure, and not their own faulty, sinful wills.

8) Objections Answered

1) How does this doctrine of predestination fit in with a loving God?
But predestination is loving. Without the loving predestination of God (Eph. 1:4,5) no one would ever be saved. All would go to hell.

2) If God predestines us, and our sinful wills would never allow us to seek God, then wouldn’t God be violating the wills of those He calls?
No, because He doesn’t violate their wills when He regenerates them first. Since God calls (Rom. 8:28-30), He first regenerates the nature of the person called. Since the person is then regenerate, with a new nature (2 Cor. 5:17), he is then able to desire God. Therefore, God does not violate his will.

But some say that faith brings regeneration. Again I ask: How can an unregenerate person have faith in the true God? He cannot. It is regeneration that brings faith.

3) Does this mean that even if you wanted to be saved you couldn’t if you’re not predestined?
This question doesn’t reflect a proper understanding of the condition of man. The unsaved don’t want salvation or the true God, so they wouldn’t ever seek salvation. Also, anyone who truly desires salvation is only wanting it because the Lord is drawing him.

4) Doesn’t Romans 8:29 prove that God looked into the future and foreknew who would accept Him?: “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren; and whom He predestined, these He also called.

There are two reasons why these verses cannot be used to support that idea. First, if you read the verse, there is a key word that is often missed: “also.” The verse says that the ones foreknown are ALSO predestined. In other words, the same ones foreknown are the ones predestined. It does not say that He foreknew all and predestined some; otherwise it would say, “Of those He foreknew, some He predestined.” It says He ALSO predestined those whom He foreknew. The foreknown are the group He has predestined to be saved.

Second, God only “knows” believers. He does not “know” unbelievers. Matt. 7:22-23 says, “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.

‘”
John 10:27 says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I KNOW THEM, and they follow Me”;
John 13:18 says, “I do not speak of all of you, I KNOW THE ONES I HAVE CHOSEN…”
Gal. 4:9 says, “But now that you have come to know God, or rather TO BE KNOWN by Him…”
2 Tim. 2:19 says, “…The Lord KNOWS those who are His…”
These verses show a “knowing” that is related to salvation. Only Christians are “known.” Only the foreKNOWN are predestined. God foreknew; that is, He foreloved His chosen ones and predestined them into salvation. God knows believers, hence the word “foreknown.” Therefore, Rom. 8:29 doesn’t support the idea that God looked into the future to see who would pick Him.

In addition, God would not look into a person to see if he would pick Him, because if that were so, then God’s choice would depend upon Man’s choice and God would not be sovereign.

5) What about the verses that suggest you choose God?
“Whosoever will believe…He who receives… etc.” We see in Scripture both God’s and Man’s hands in salvation. God elects, predestines, draws, and saves. Man chooses, but only after God has saved him (see objection number 2). We experience and understand the act of choosing, but this is because we do so after we’re regenerate. If someone says that he freely chose to accept God and that predestination is untrue, then he is establishing doctrine by his experience. This is something that is to be avoided.

Acts 13:48 describes the “whosoever.” They are the ones who are appointed to believe: “…and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.” It is obvious from this verse that the ones who believe are the ones who are appointed by God to believe. Remember also Philippians 1:29: “For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.” God grants that the elect believe. That is why we are born again not of our wills but of the will of God (John 1:12-13).

6) But it isn’t fair to only choose some.

Fairness is that we all go to hell. ALL people deserve damnation (Eph. 2:3). God would be perfectly just to let all slide into the eternal abyss of damnation–and He would still be just as loving, because that is His nature. God doesn’t owe us anything.

The question isn’t “Why would He only choose SOME?”; but rather, “Why did He choose ANY?”

7) What about verses like “I will draw all men to Myself” (John 12:32)?
The “all” are only the Christians. This may sound absurd at first. The Bible says that Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6) and that there is no other name under heaven by which a man may be saved (Acts 4:12). Can the “all” here mean everyone? What about those who never heard the gospel, like the Aborigines 100 years before Christ? Does the gospel message apply to them? I ask this because how can anyone be saved apart from Jesus, especially when they haven’t had the opportunity to hear the gospel? It seems to me that the “all” of this verse must apply to the elect.

Incidentally, a discussion of Romans 5:18 sheds light on the biblical usage of “all” when it says, “…there resulted justification of life to all men” (NASB). The “all” there obviously cannot mean everyone, but only a select group, i.e., “the many” spoken of in the following verse.

In addition, other verses worth examining in this context are 1 Cor. 15:22 and 2 Cor. 5:14. It says in 1 Cor. 15:22, “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” Adam represented everyone in his death. Christ represented the elect in His death as is evidenced by the fact that the only ones who are made alive in Christ (Rom. 6:11; 8:10) are the Christians. The “all” can only be the elect.

2 Cor. 5:14 says, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.” The only ones who die in Christ (Rom. 6:8) are the Christians. The “all” can only be the elect.

If you are interested in a more thorough analysis of verses that say things like “God wants all men to be saved” then click on “All Men Saved.

8) But I actually did choose to accept God.

That is right. You did. But only because God first regenerated you, freed your will from sin, and thereby allowed you to be able to choose Him. Regeneration precedes faith. The regenerated person is no longer the slave of sin (Rom. 6:6) and is therefore able to desire God. He then DOES choose God.

This act of regeneration is what God does. Remember, your believing is something God has given you: “For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake” (Phil. 1:29); Also, “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent’” (John 6:29); And, “…and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed” (Acts 13:48).

This is also why we are born again not by our own wills, but the will of God: “But as many as received Him…[these] were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12,13).

Truth or Tradition? Going to Heaven.

Posted by Lynn on July 26, 2008

Truth or Tradition….Heaven

I have put together some facts that cannot be denied on going to Heaven whether it be by a secret Rapture that many foolishly believe in or by death.

Please take a moment and see if you are really going to Heaven…

Notes from http://www. realtruth. org/articles/080331-007-dtsgth. html
Please click on link for entire article

You say heaven is the reward of the saved.

Are you certain? Have you sought proof?

Almost all professing Christians believe the saved go to heaven upon death.

Why? What assurance do they have? By what authority have countless millions believed that they are bound for heaven when they die?

Be honest. You probably consider yourself a Christian. You certainly want to be saved. You have probably also been assured that you will go to heaven some day.

Should you not demand proof that heaven is really what you seek—and where you will go?

It is about time you know if you will spend all eternity in heaven!

An Easy Formula

Romans 10:9 states, “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Verse 13 adds, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Certain popular verses are routinely cited to validate the simplicity of just believing in Christ to be saved. This makes salvation seem routine and easy. Heaven becomes little more than an assumption in a formula that virtually every professing Christian takes for granted: “Believe in Jesus, go to heaven.”

Yet when a famous evangelist was asked, “What will we do when we get to heaven?” he answered, “I don’t know, but it will be wonderful.

” Such ignorance!—and if he does not know, how can he “know” it will be wonderful?

Answers like this are why people assume that they will “ride clouds in heaven”—”walk the streets of gold in front of the pearly gates”—”play harps”—”grow wings”—or generally “roll around heaven all day.” All of these ideas are man-made, fiction. The Bible teaches none of them—yet almost everyone believes them as fact.

So, let’s get the facts—the truth—of what God teaches.

Perhaps the plainest scripture in the Bible about going to heaven is in the Sermon on the Mount—and it does not even mention the word heaven. While most know of this Sermon, few know of this most important verse. Christ said, “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth” (Matt. 5:5).

Have you ever heard even one minister say that God’s purpose for Christians is to “inherit the EARTH”? I doubt it. And yet there it is—at the very beginning of the New Testament.

What may be more amazing is that Christ was quoting Psalm 37:11. It states the exact same thing. It would not have been strange for Him to reference Psalms, since all His listeners would have been familiar with this scripture.

To have said that “the meek shall inherit heaven” certainly would have been strange to their ears!

Let’s examine another plain scripture, which adds another element.

The apostle John recorded the following: “And has made them [the saints] unto our God kings and priests: and they [the saints] shall reign on the earth” (Rev. 5:10).

The reward of God’s saints is to inherit future rulership “on the earth”—as “kings and priests.” This is plain!

I’ll ask again: Have you ever heard a minister say that God’s purpose for you is to “reign on the earth,” as “kings and priests”?

Be honest—of course not! You must at least admit that becoming a king is more appealing than riding clouds, playing harps or rolling around heaven.

Now, will you believe the plain words of the Bible—or continue in popular but baseless assumptions?

What Daniel Knew

Now go to the Old Testament. The prophet Daniel, amplifying the saints’ role as kings and priests, writes about the Return of Christ and the establishing of God’s kingdom on earth. Before examining three key verses, some background is important.

Before Christ’s Return, God will officially grant Him the authority to rule the world. Notice: “And there was GIVEN Him [Christ] dominion, and glory, and a kingdom” (Dan. 7:14).

Where will this kingdom be? Daniel answers, “…that all people, nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.”

It will be on earth.

But how will God rule the peoples and nations of earth? Daniel explains: “But the saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even forever and ever” (vs. 18).

The Christian’s ultimate destiny is to join Christ and share rulership in the kingdom of God over all nations and peoples ON EARTH!

Now read verse 22: “…and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.” And verse 27: “And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.”

Christ and the saints will rule peoples and nations on earth.

You have surely heard Christ referred to as “KING of kings and LORD of lords.” Now you know why!

Let’s confirm where this rulership takes place. Christ states, “And he that overcomes, and keeps My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of My Father” (Rev. 2:26-27). A few verses later, He adds, “To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me in My throne…” (3:21).

Christians are overcomers. They do not sit idle, “just believing” in Jesus and waiting for heaven. They recognize that they are in training to become teachers and rulers! This is why the apostle Jude wrote, “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, To execute judgment upon all…” (vs. 14-15).

Did you notice Christ “comes” to earth rather than we “go” to heaven? And the saints assist Him in “executing judgment.”

The phrase “in My throne” (Rev. 3:21) is used because Christ understood that His throne is on this earth—unlike the Father’s throne, which is in heaven. Luke 1:32 shows that Christ will sit in Jerusalem on the throne of David.

Now notice Revelation 20:4, 6: “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them…and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years…Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”

What could be plainer than these verses? When Christ returns, the saints rule with Him! Together, they will reign over the entire world!

What Christ Did Say About Heaven

Let’s turn the coin over.

We have seen what Christ says IS the calling and reward of a Christian—but did He ever say what it is NOT? Did Jesus make any plain statements about men in heaven? He did—in stunning clarity!

He said, “And no man has ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven” (John 3:13).

There it is! Jesus did address people going to heaven. Take this verse for exactly what He said, neither adding to nor taking from it.

He said, “NO MAN” (not a single one) has gone to heaven!

Do you believe Him? Or do you believe the ministers of this world who virtually suggest, with their ideas about salvation, that Christ was misleading or did not know what He was talking about?

Now think of all God’s servants who had lived during the 4,000 years prior to Christ’s statement. Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and many more, cannot be in heaven.

So says Christ!

If heaven is the reward of the saved, then none of these men made it. They all must have FAILED! Every one of them missed out on salvation.

But, of course, they did not fail. Heaven is not the reward of the saved—inheriting rulership over earth is, as we shall learn.

Notice that verse 13 comes only three verses prior to the most universally quoted passage in the Bible—John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Why is almost everyone willing to believe this verse while virtually no one believes what is said just three verses earlier?

Now ask: If all the above men are not in heaven, where are they?
Where is David?

King David reigned over the nation of Israel about 1,000 years before Christ. Christ knew exactly where David was when He made His statement in John 3. He was not confused or misinformed.

Since we know David was not in heaven, then where was he?

Here is plain proof.

The apostle Peter answers this question in his sermon delivered on the day Christ built His Church: “Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre [tomb] is with us unto this day” (Acts 2:29).

David is literally “dead and buried.” You have almost certainly heard this common phrase.

It comes from this verse and is a reference to David’s whereabouts!

Some believe Peter’s statement was incomplete or he just forgot David was in heaven. This is a ridiculous twisting of the verse.

Here is what he said five verses later, removing all doubt: “For David is not ascended into the heavens…”

This is a direct statement. David is not in heaven. Yet God said that David was “a man after Mine own heart” (Acts 13:22). If heaven is the reward of the saved, and David did not make it, then nobody is going to make it.

David is in the grave awaiting the resurrection of the dead, when the just receive their eternal inheritance.

The Bible is quite specific about David’s coming resurrection—and his position as a ruler over the tribes of Israel. It adds further proof that David is not alive now but is, in fact, “dead and buried.” Centuries after David died, the prophet Jeremiah said he would be resurrected: “But they [the twelve tribes of Israel] shall serve the Lord their God, and david their king, whom I will RAISE UP unto them” (30:9). To “raise up” is to resurrect.

The prophet Ezekiel also foretold David’s resurrection: “And I will set up one shepherd over them [the tribes of Israel], and he shall feed them, even My servant david; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the Lord will be their God, and My servant david a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it” (Ezek. 34:23-24). Also see 37:24.

Carefully read this verse with the whole chapter. It is obvious that Ezekiel 34 is talking about the physical tribes of Israel (vs. 2, 3, 30, 31) and how David will shepherd them after he is resurrected from the dead.

The Apostles Rule Under David

Consider the twelve apostles. They heard Peter’s sermon (Peter was the lead apostle, so he gave the sermon). They knew what their own role would be after the resurrection.

Christ had previously explained to them “That you which have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit in the throne of His glory, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel” (Matt. 19:28).

The apostles knew that they will report to David in the kingdom of God. Each will rule one tribe, with David over all twelve tribes.

Much more needs to be understood—but first read where you may some day fit in.

Joint-heirs With Christ

When God calls people to repentance, and they are baptized, He gives them His Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). It is God’s Holy Spirit within the mind that makes one a Christian. Paul stated, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Rom. 8:14).

This much is clear. What is NOT so clear—or even known—to most is what Paul added in verse 17: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

A true follower of Christ and the Bible is an heir with Christ! Heirs are not yet inheritors. An heir is one who later inherits what has been promised to him.

We have read that Christians are to “inherit the earth”—and “rule with Christ.” How, when, where and why does this take place? Once the answers are known, the counterfeit salvation about heaven, taught by almost every professing Christian church, collapses for the fiction that it is!

Now knowing that we aren’t going to Heaven, that makes being raptures off earth sound rather silly… Doesn’t it?

What Your Pastor ISN’T Telling You About HELL!

Posted by Lynn on July 26, 2008

In churches today, Pastors use scare tactics on Hell’ to scare people to the altars. Most that go to church for the reason to stay out of hell, never receive truth nor salvation, which is sad. I found the following notes on hell and have done this study myself. More people should do this study for themselves then instead coming to Yeshua for fear, come to Him in love. Yahweh doesn’t want a bride that only wants Him to stay out of an eternal BBQ pit. You will see how silly the whole thing is once you do the study…

Please take time to read the following notes….

Thoughts on what Hell means
(http://tothebarley. com/ThoughtsonwhatHellmeans. html) This page uses God and Jesus where I prefer Yahweh and Yeshua, the Hebrew names of our Creator/Messiah.

“Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh Grave (hades) where is thy victory?”
1 Corinthians 15:55

Many believe that there is no eternal Hell as is taught by the whole of Christianity. These are some of the thoughts and reasons why serious students of the Word, have come to believe just that.
If Hell is real, and God is going to burn people there eternally, then why didn’t Paul ever mention it to us? Surely he would have tried to warn us don’t you think? But, shockingly, Paul never mentioned hell!

The Apostle Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles (nations of the lost tribes of Israel) by his own admission (Acts 13:46). He wrote us 13-14 books depending on whether we believe that he wrote the book of Hebrews. In all of his books he never once mentions the word hell.

The only Greek words that are translated into the word hell are hades, gehenna, and tartaroo. Paul mentions the Greek word hades once, but never uses the words gehenna or tartaroo.

In 1 Corinthians 15:55 where Paul wrote, “Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh Grave (hades) where is thy victory?” The Greek word hades is translated into the English word grave, where every other time in the New Testament the Greek word hades is translated into the English word hell.

Why didn’t the Translators use the word “hell” in this verse? Why should there have been an exception?

In 1 Cor. 15:20 Paul is telling the people that Jesus was risen from the dead and was to become the first fruits that promised the rest of the Harvest. He says that the last enemy to be destroyed will be death. (1Cor. 15:26) Then he asks the people the rhetorical questions, “Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh Grave (hades) where is thy victory?” He is saying that death won’t have a sting because it will be destroyed or done away with. (“Oh death, where is thy sting?”) Then he is saying, “Oh Grave where is thy victory?” Oh grave, oh hades, oh hell where is thy victory??? None will have a victory because they will be destroyed or done away with also.

The translators could not have put the word hell into that verse because hell would have had no victory. This would have destroyed their Eternal Punishment doctrine. Hell would be destroyed, and if hell would be destroyed then how could it be an eternal kingdom where people will be tortured and burned forever and ever without end? Paul never taught Eternal Punishment. In fact he taught us that (hades) would not have a victory but that God would be completely victorious. Eph.
1:10

Why does our Apostle never mention the word hell in all of his 13-14 books? If hell were true as is being taught by the whole of Christianity shouldn’t our Apostle have taught it to us? Wouldn’t he have warned us about this place so that we would not be sent there? Paul instead prophesied that there would be a “falling away first.
” There is something strange here isn’t there? Could it be that the whole of Christianity has “fallen away” into believing untrue things about Our Father?

Old Testament

The word translated “hell,” in the Old Testament, is from the Hebrew word sheol. It is translated “Grave” 31 times, “Hell” 31 times, and “Pit” 3 times. Why should there be an exception? If a person reads these verses he will begin to see that there is nothing associated with endless punishment.

Examples where the Translators used the word Grave instead of the word Hell

By putting the word Hell in place of Grave you will begin to see that Sheol cannot mean Eternal Punishment.

Job 14:13, ” O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave (sheol), that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!”

If the Translators would have put the English word Hell here it would have created a hugh problem. Would Job want to be hid in hell until God’s wrath was past? He is speaking of the grave. Sheol cannot mean a place of endless punishment in this verse.

Job 17:13, “If I wait, the grave (sheol) is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

What would happen here if they Translated (sheol) with the English word hell?
Job did not wait in hell for God to resurrect him! He waited in the grave.

Sheol cannot mean a place of endless punishment here.

Psalm 30:3, “O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave (sheol): thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

If Sheol were translated “Hell” here then David would be saying that The Lord brought his soul up from Hell! Are we to believe that David’s soul was brought up from hell? It will be brought up from the grave at the resurrection. Sheol cannot mean a place of endless punishment here.

Psalm 49:14-15, “Like sheep they are laid in the grave (sheol); death shall feed on them; and the upright morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave (sheol) from their dwelling. 15: But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave (sheol): for he shall receive me. Se’lah.

Install the word “Hell” for the word Sheol and you will see that sheol cannot mean Eternal Punishment. Sheep do not go to hell for eternal punishment! And most do not believe that God will redeem our souls from the power of hell. Sheol cannot mean a place of endless punishment here.

Why would the Hebrew word sheol be translated 31 times with the word grave?
Because the translators saw this problem and thought to translate the word Grave instead of Hell.

Examples where the Translators used the word Hell for Sheol instead of the word Grave

Psalm 16:10, “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell (sheol); neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:25-27, shows that this is a prophetic utterance that David spoke about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. “For thou wilt not leave my (Jesus’) soul in hell.

Assuming hell were a place of eternal torment, Jesus’ soul would not have been able to get out of hell because Luke 16 states that there is a great gulf. This word should have been translated grave because it shows that Jesus was brought out of the grave or Sepulcher and His body did not suffer the corruption of the flesh.

Jonah 2:1-3, “Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly, (2) And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell (sheol) cried I, and thou heardest my voice. (3) For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

The translators used the word hell here when they should have used the word grave (unseen) because Jonah was not praying from hell. He was in the unseen place or the belly of the fish. He was in his “grave.
” He was not in an Eternal Hell!

Psalm 86:13, “For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell (sheol).

David wasn’t in hell, as it is being taught, but will be delivered from the grave. Again if this word Sheol were translated grave it would have made complete sense.

Ezekiel 31:15-17, “Thus sayeth the Lord God; In the day when he went down to the grave (sheol) I caused a morning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell (sheol) with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of eden…”
17 They also went down into hell (sheol) with him unto them that be slain with the sword…”

This is talking about Pharaoh going into the grave (sheol) along with all his hordes. Yet the translators used the word hell twice when grave would have been clearer. Sheol is what they called the grave or the unseen place. Nothing in this can mean endless torment as is being taught by the Churches in this day.

Let us look at some New Testament Verses that have the word Hell

There are Three Greek words translated into “hell” in the New Testament.

Hades which means “unseen,” Geenna which means “Valley of Hinnom, Gehinna,” and Tartaroo or Tartarus.

The Greek word hades is translated by the English word “hell” 10 times and by the English word “grave” once.

In 1 Corinthians 15:55 the word hades is translated “Grave.” Yet every other New Testament verse where hades is used it is translated “hell.” If the translators had used the word Hell here in this verse, then Hell would not have had a victory.
This would have blown the false doctrine of eternal burning out the door!

In Acts 2:27-31 the word hades is used twice. These verses are spoke by Peter to the crowd at the day of Pentecost. They come from Psalms 16:10.

The New International Version (NIV) has translated these verses using the word “grave” instead of the word “hell.” We all know that Jesus’ body was in the Grave or Sepulcher for three days before it was resurrected on Sunday morning. These verses come from the Old Testament where the word sheol is used. In the KJV it is translated “hell”, but in the NIV they have used the word “grave.

Even though the KJV used the word “hell” there in Psalms 16:10, we know that it should have been translated “grave.
” No one would think that Jesus was in an eternal-burning kingdom called hell for Three Days!

Revelation 1:18 has Jesus saying that he has the keys of death and of hell (hades). Here again this would have been better to translate the word “grave” instead of “hell.” Jesus is telling us that we are Jointheirs with him and that he has conquered death and the grave. Just as the Translators used “grave” in 1 Cor. 15:55 for Hades, they could have used “grave” here also.

In Rev. 20:13-14 the word hades is translated by the English word “hell.
” In verse 13 it says,

“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell (hades) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Notice that this says that those in hell (hades) were dead. Hades could not be a place of eternal torment because those people were DEAD not alive! The word hades would have made better sense to have been translated “grave” like in 1 Cor. 15:55.

In Rev. 20:14 it says, “And death and hell (hades) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Notice that Hell (hades) is cast into the lake of fire. Obviously hell is not a place of “eternal torment” because it is cast into a thing called the lake of fire, which is referred to as the second death. In 1 Cor. 15:55 Paul says that death won’t have a victory and hell (hades) won’t have a victory either. Then in verse 15:26 Paul says that the last enemy that will be destroyed is death. There will be no death. No first death or second death. Jesus will draw all unto him. He will have defeated death and the Grave.

In 1 Cor. 15:26 Paul says, “the last enemy to be destroyed is death.” The word destroyed is katargeo in Greek. It means “to make of none effect.” This is exactly what Jesus will do to death when he has the victory over it, he will make it of none effect upon the World.
There will be no more death!

Remember Jesus will destroy, “Him who had the Power of Death”, that is the Devil Heb. 2:14. The word “destroy” here is the same Greek word, katargeo,” which means, “To make of none effect.” So Jesus will “make of none effect” death and the Devil.

My prayer is that you will be brought to a decision point on this subject. There is much more that can be said on this subject. I have just put a few things down that should make any person think, and hopefully study about the word Hell.

YHWH Bless you as you study the truth about Hell.

“Seedline Theory” Another reply

Posted by Lynn on July 26, 2008

I recently posted the following reply complete with scriptures to a topic that was horribly full of false interpretations of this subject that I found to be disturbing. Please read along with my other blog on the Seedline Theory.

I am really having an issue with everyone’s beliefs here. Forget the fact that the flood of Noah’s day DESTROYED all evil, there is no scriptural foundation to what is being discussed in this topic and just like the secret rapture it is false, a lie and misleading at the least. My heart is heavy and I am in torment because I delight in truth and finding answers to questions, not making more questions because the answers are false.

The Kenites of the bible are not from Cain, they are a tribe of Caanan during Abraham’s time. Also Moses’s father-in-law was Kenite therefore Moses’ wife as well.

Jdg 1:16 And the children of [Jethro] the Kenite, Moses’ father-in-law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.

YHWH blessed the wife of a Kenite

Jdg 5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
Jdg 5:25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.

The Kenites are not descendants of Cain. Cain was the son of Adam that was exiled for sin. YHWH was prepared to accept him had he did the correct sacrifice. So are you all saying YHWH was prepared to embrace the hybrid son of satan?

Adam ate of the same fruit as Eve and if that was sex with satan then Adam is a queer. Not to mention that by Adam staying with Eve after she bedded another is against the law which is the knowledge they gained from the tree. Whoever this enchanter was, he was from the others created before Adam. That is why the children of Adam have enmity with those not of Adam’s bloodline.

YHWH never said Adam’s would war between Cain. It was Esau and Jacob who would always be at one another. Esau (who isn’t the seedline of satan either) is the twin of Jacob and they come from the same bloodline but because of the sin of Esau in taking Caananite women (not Kenites) He disobeyed YHWH.

The reason Esau cannot be of a serpent is because the Messiah confirmed to the Pharisees that they were in fact from Abraham. However they were not from Jacob but from Esau. (John 8:29-37)

The knowledge of good and evil in the garden (tree) was not having sex…..Eve was seduced to in some way by someone that was cunning and slick, an enchanter, to disobey Yahweh’s law that said not to partake of that tree or even touch it and by thinking she would not die by this because he was so convincing. After-all sin is transgression of His law and without a law there is no sin. By doing the same and not obeying and keeping Yahweh’s laws, thinking we don’t have to anymore, are we not saying we are gods in a way? That we have power? I believe so and I think Eve did too. If any sex was happening it had to be with Adam because that is what it says in scripture and because any other would break YHWH’s laws and make Adam and Eve adulterers. Not to mention Adam a queer, an abomination before YHWH.

Who provides us with the knowledge of good and evil?…THE OMNISCIENT YHWH not some demon god satan! That is plain blasphemy.

How does He transfer knowledge of good and evil to man? Man’s cognizance of good and evil comes from YHWH’s law. The second time Moses delivered YHWH’s law to the children of Israel he described the law like this…..

Deu 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
Deu 30:16 In that I command thee this day to love YHWH thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and YHWH thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

The words “good” and “evil” ascribed to the law of YHWH here are translated from the same two Hebrew words “towb” and “ra” used in Genesis 2 and 3 regarding the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So since the tree is about the knowledge of YHWH’s law, by calling it what you have, would not that be evil in the eyes of Yahweh? I would think so.

I beg that those believing in this theory please look into it further. Although I agree with Murray on a lot, this subject and his belief is wrong and not harmonizing with the word. With this belief it misleads and when certain truths come your way you will not understand because they will not make sense.

Note I do not direct my comments personally. I exhort you to understand the truth and my rebuke is in brotherly love.
